Blooming Talipot in Mauritius

One Talipot Palm -  Corypha umbraculifera, is actually in bloom at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden. The Talipot Palm blooms only once in its life, and the fruits take around one year to get ready, before the plant dies. The Talipot Palm blooms after 50 to 80 years.

The good thing is that I was lucky enough to witness the current bloom :)
